2021 Mother’s Day Gift Guide (lots of discounts inside!!!)
If there ever was a year to make mothers feel extra special on Mother’s Day, it is this year! After months of spinning more plates than usual, with lockdown after lockdown, enforced homeschooling, keeping the family sane within the four walls of the house and working-from-home, mums deserve only the best this year! Of course, a day (or weekend or perhaps an entire week) off mothering duties would be ideal, or perhaps a solo vacation in the Bahamas?! But if that can’t happen, then here are some gift ideas that will make mum feel loved, special and pampered.
You can never have too much jewellery!
My favourite piece of jewellery is earrings (long ones, to be more specific), and I discovered two brands this year which make the most fun, yet stylish pieces!
Jenny’s hand-made pieces can be found at Sharkie and Bear. I chose these Chunky Glitter-Drop pair in rose gold (also available in a multitude of colours) and while they are named chunky and look so, they are as light as a feather! Backed with high quality black glitter vinyl to finish the look, these dazzlers can sparkle up any outfit!
I also love this Zebra and Turquoise Cork pair (who doesn’t love zebra print and how fabulous do they look combined with turquoise and silver fleck cork?!). Funky, stylish and casual chic. Check out Jenny’s website for some great designs, available in studs as well.
Victoria from Handmakes and Keepsakes excels in modern feminine chic jewellery, and this dainty dangly pair from her ‘Marble collection’ is simply gorgeous! Made from marbled Howlite stone and 18 karat gold-plating, this pair lends the perfect modern-minimalist look. There’s also a matching necklace and bracelet if you want to gift a set. Also check out her ‘Mystique collection’ and full range of jewellery – you’re sure to find a number of gems!
From earrings to watches – how about gifting mum this diamante engraved watch in rose gold from the Engravers Guild of London? The clean stainless steel design has an added glamorous touch with the rose-tone and diamantes. The best part: it can be personalised with an engraving on the reverse of the stainless steel case (you can even select the font of your choice). Head over to their website to choose from a range of watches and more.
Get pampered, feel beautiful…
Another brand I got introduced to this year is Balmonds, and I’m already a fan! Their range of natural moisturisers for dry, flaky and itchy skin is simply amazing and so effective. The Intensive Hand Cream is the answer to my dry winter hands, while the Intensive Facial Oil is now a standard to my night time skincare routine. While the Intensive Lip Balm keeps my lips soft and supple. The Skin Salvation is a natural moisturising salve and the perfect completion to this winter-care kit for mum.
Use my special code MAMAVILLE20 for a 20% discount on all Balmonds products.
The oil is so fragrant and rich, yet so calming and soothing. Comprising a blend of Shea Nut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E and Lemongrass Essential Oil, it’s a must-have for a mum to de-stress and pamper herself. Use code MAMA10 for a 10% discount off the oil.
The Malmal Night Cream works wonders – it’s a rich and powerful cream that tones and firms tired, dull, sagged skin. The magical mixture is a blend of green tea, juniper and ylang ylang, amongst other oils, that nourish and replenish the skin, helping to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles. You can also avail of a 20% discount off all the items in the Malmal collection by using the code MAMA20.
And while on the subject of getting pampered, which mama wouldn’t appreciate a gorgeous candle to light up the room during a quiet evening alone (after lockdown, realistically speaking!) or to set the mood for a relaxing bath? This luxury soy wax sandalwood scented candle from Mineheart smells as stunning as it looks! The rose gold exterior embossed with Mineheart’s majestic logo adds a touch of class and doubles up as a beautiful decorative item as well.
Never say no to leggings!
When it comes to the wardrobe, most mums will agree that leggings are a woman’s (especially a mum’s) best friend – easy and comfortable to wear, match with anything and suit every body type, require no ironing (yeah!!!) and look effortlessly stylish!
Be it for the daily grind (school-run, weekly shop, trip to the park, a run outside), or just to lounge around when at home, these Lounge Leggings from Love Leggings are just perfect! With their high-rise waistband and velvety soft fabric, they are snug, comfortable and look fab!
The Ankle Grazer Jeggings collection, also from Love Leggings, are for those who love the look of jeans but the comfort of leggings. Available in a range of cool colours, these are the ultimate mix of style and comfort.
Did someone say treats?
If you’re stuck for ideas on what to give mum, stick to good ol’ food and drink! Nothing is appreciated more than some treats, chocolates and bubbles to celebrate that special day.
Mum loves a good afternoon tea but cannot enjoy one because of the lockdown? Well, if you can’t go to the tea, let the tea come to you! Buy A Gift has a number of days out and experience vouchers for afternoon teas, meals out, spa weekends away and many more exciting experiences. I chose the Love and Bubbles Afternoon Tae for Two at Home with Piglet’s Pantry, which was delivered to my door on the date I wanted with the freshest ingredients possible. What an absolute treat!
These pistachio chocolates from Sous Chef are heaven on earth! Smooth, with a subtle flavour of pistachio cream, these are pure indulgence and mum would really enjoy these!
And for the health-conscious mum who wants to kickstart her day with a nutritious smoothie but has no time to do so, these FOGA instant plantshakes are just the thing! Available in a wide range of flavours, with a mix of freeze-dried fruits and veggies and other healthy bits, mum will thank you when she doesn’t need to peel, chop or blend – just shake!
Disclosure: I was gifted the items in the gift guide to review; however, all opinions are my own.
