The #itsok Linky – Week 7

If it’s your first time here, welcome. If you’re now a regular, welcome back! This is the linky where you can share all the not-so-good moments of parenting – I’m talking about the tantrums and the shouting; the long drawn-out mealtimes and the bedtime blues; and the times when the wretched mumguilt takes over. We are mums and dads, yes, but we’re also human beings and here we believe that #itsok to not be perfect 100 per cent of the time. The house will still be there if it’s not vacuumed for a week. It’s not the end of the world if the kids eat nuggets once in a while. And you can buy a ready-made Elsa costume for World Book Day – #itsok!!!

My Featured Blogger from last week was Kate from The Mum Conundrum for this brilliant post – Overwhelm, Sleep Deprivation, Stress, & The Fear Of Not Being Enough for her honest depiction of motherhood, no holds barred. We all love to put our happiest moments and Pinterest perfect images on social media, pretending to be the cool, calm, hip mums we want to be. But often, in fact more than often, our days are filled with exhaustion, stress, overwhelm and failure, and in light of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, Kate tells us why it’s important to acknowledge these shortcomings, and how to effectively deal with them. A MUST-READ for every mum – #itsok to not be your best  24/7.

Go ahead and proudly display our lovely ‘Featured Blogger’ badge on your site, Kate!
