Gifts that will WOW Mum: Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2019

It’s that time of the year again, when it’s time to celebrate motherhood. Of course, mothers and motherhood should be celebrated and respected EVERYDAY, but since there is a special day for us, why not make the most of it?

Of course, you can buy yourself something nice – you deserve it mama – or you can just pass this list on to your kids/ husband… who knows, they might just get the hint?! Or, perhaps, you could get something for your own mum?

There’s something for all kinds of mums in here, so take a look and get gifting!

Everyday Jackets

These everyday cotton rich jackets from Lands’ End will make a great gift for mum. Available in a range of colours from subtle tan to bright green to casual blue, these lightweight jackets are perfect for everything from the school run to a baby group to a coffee afternoon with mums. The detachable hood, adjustable waist and two way pockets make it even more practical, while the double popper cuffs with contrast lining makes a cool fashion statement. Versatile, stylish and machine washable – what more could a mum want?!

Sexy Sandals or Sparkly Pumps

The range of sandals available at jdwilliams is amazing! From wedges to flats to heels to brights to nudes, you’re sure to find something for every kind of mum! Perfect to put a ‘spring’ in her step…

Alternatively, these sparkly pink slip-on pumps are perfect to jazz up mum’s day… yes, even the mundane school run!

These silver Hamsa Drop Earrings from Statement Made Jewellery are just so pretty! I’ve worn them a couple of times now, and never fail to get a compliment. Their unique design and delicate shape definitely make a statement, and add oomph to casual outfits. Perfect for playdates, coffee meet-ups or even a mum’s night out!

I confess, I’ve never been overly concerned with looking after my skin. I can admit I’ve neglected it more than cared for it over the years. But now with age and the stress of parenting taking over, I realised I needed to do something about my skin! I came across Primal Cure’s range of beauty products and decided to give them a go. I LOVE them!

The anti-aging cream is just brilliant! Made with 95% natural ingredients, it contains the goodness of olive oil, apricot seed oil and grapeseed oil along with a special protein from argan oil that penetrates the skin and retains moisture. No more tired, dehydrated looking skin or fine lines.

And you can never go wrong with aloe vera, so I also tried the daily moisturiser with organic aloe vera extract – perfect for everyday care.

Check out their site for more natural beauty and health products – trust me, your mum will love them!

Another range of products that I have tried in the past few weeks is that by Balance Active Formula. I tried three of their ranges, and each has their benefits. The Dragon’s Blood range contains Dragon’s Blood plant extract, amongst other active ingredients, that helps to instantly lift and firm the skin. The Gold Collagen range contains Colloidal Gold and Marine Collagen that rejuvenates tired-looking skin and gives a plumper appearance. The anti-ageing Snake Venom Eye Cream isn’t as scary as it sounds; but in fact, does wonders for the soft under-eye skin. And their Vitamin C Brightening Serum is awesome for adding that glow and radiance for great looking skin, everyday!

Trust me, mum will be forever grateful if you get her these!

This charcoal exfoliating facescrub from Procoal also gets my thumbs up! With activated charcoal and allantoin (a highly effective ingredient that encourages natural skin exfoliation) it provides a powerful detox, removing clogged pores, contaminants and excessive oil. Yet, the calendula oil lends a gentle and caring touch. Tough on the outside, soft on the inside – pretty much like us mums!

Now this one can be a tad personal, but hang on… JulieMay has a fantastic postpartum collection which makes for a perfect gift for new mums. Pelvic and abdominal stretching during pregnancy can cause the waist, hip and thigh muscles to loosen, which leads to posture abnormality and deformation. JulieMay’s postpartum girdles offer the support required for postpartum recovery, while simultaneously improving posture and relieving back pain. With the exclusive InfraredSlimTM technology, the girdles also improve blood circulation and boost metabolism, promoting fast healing for post-pregnancy recovery. And last but not the least, they are super comfortable for all-day-long wear, yet look feminine and sexy.

Good ol’ PJs

You can NEVER go wrong with gifting mum a set of cosy PJs! And this Waffle Pyjama Set in blush pink from Hunkemoller is soooo lush, so soft and so comfortable! Great to lounge around in or sleep in. And did I mention the blush pink is just so adorable?! also has some super-cute nightwear and loungewear, I particularly like these super-hero sets (of course we rule the world, don’t we?!) and this World’s Best Mum cotton pyjamas.

If it’s loungewear you’re looking for, then this soft-touch ‘Sparkle’ striped PJ set is perfect, as is this wine luxury moleskin robe. And you can’t ignore this tropical print shirt nightdress – it’s too cute and perfect for those hot summer nights!

Bag/ Purse

You gotta love this chic stripe shopper in navy, beige and brown. It’s the perfect size to fit those mum essentials, yet looks chic and stylish. Moreover, it’s versatile and can be used as a handbag or a cross body bag.

Spray a little extra love on Mum with these delightful Eau de Toilettes, body mists and purse sprays. From naughty to nice, and sexy to floral tones, surprise mum with these little wonders.

Home Fragrances

Another gift that every mum would love – home fragrances. I chanced upon Price’s Candles and have to say I find them far better than most others (three weeks on, still smell as fresh!). I got the Winter Jasmine and Spa Moments fragrances to try, and both smell divine.

There are 12 different collections of scented candle jars, scented and unscented tealights, fragrant reed diffusers, elegant dining and
church candles, the ever-popular citronella garden range and the best-selling Fresh Air odour eliminating collection – take your pick!

PS: Here’s a little-known fact – Price’s Candles has a long-standing heritage: they’ve been producing high quality, exquisitely scented candles since 1830!
