I've never subscribed to one of those monthly subscription boxes – be it for meal kits, beauty products or arts and crafts for kids. The only monthly subscription I had was to a magazine, and that was years before Little Man was born, when I had FREE TIME.
Then I chanced upon Awebox online, and it caught my attention. Because it's a fully customisable subscription box and includes everything from treats to beauty products to health foods to accessories and alcohol! Now this made sense – I wasn't limited to receiving the SAME kind of products every month. So I decided to review one of their boxes to see what all the fuss about subscription boxes was about.
I asked for items in the following categories – Protein Snacks, Healthy Gluten Free Snacks, Women's Beauty and Fragrance and Chocolate – and I am loving everything I received.
I have a very sweet tooth and almost always give in to that 4 pm biscuit/ treat. So the protein and gluten free health bars in this pack were a godsend – delicious, able to satiate the cravings and packed with the goodness of seeds, nuts and fruits. The Pulsin Almond and Raisin Raw Chocolate Brownie and the Real Handful Sea Salt Caramellow are to die for – really!
Chocolate – another weakness of mine! But the Rebel chocolates that I received in my box have more cocoa, less sugar and 25% protein, so I devoured them with much less guilt.
The Beef Twerky made for a great protein snack on our weekend out – small enough to slip in the handbag and healthier than a cookie!
And which tired mum wouldn't welcome some pampering? I'm loving the anti-aging moisturiser with Monoi Oil and Gardenia – it's natural, organic and smells absolutely divine!
What I particularly like about them is that you can choose a one-off box as well, if you don't fancy subscribing or if you want to trial them out like I did. Then if you do decide to go ahead and sign up, you can choose your monthly subscription based on how many interests you would like to include in your box. It really is so customisable!
And there's also a Surprise Me! category that you can choose if you want to – you guessed it – be surprised at what you receive. (The entire box is a surprise of sorts because you can only choose the categories of items, not the actual items themselves, but at least you know what to expect. But with the Surprise Me category, you really have no idea…)
Am I happy with the products I received? Absolutely!
Would I subscribe to this service? Yes, in my opinion, it's one of the more exciting and valuable subscription services because you get a variety of products based on your likes. I also think it makes a lovely gift for someone.
Disclosure: I was sent a box to review; but as always, all opinions are entirely my own.
