Why you’ll love the Newest Linky in Blogtown: #itsok linky

This Easter, there’s something else you can look forward to besides lots and lots of chocolate bunnies and more sunshine. It’s the arrival of a new linky on the blogoshpere – and if you’re a parent, you’re gonna absolutely LOVE this one!

We’ve all been there as parents – that place where we feel we’re not doing our best as mums or dads, that we aren’t giving our 100 per cent day in and day out. Where momguilt shrouds us every time we feed our littles fish fingers or a McDonalds burger instead of a home-cooked-from-scratch meal, or when we let them watch wayyyy to much TV because we’ve got so much to do around the house – or we just want a break! We compare our parenting skills to the Pinterest-perfect mums who craft and bake and have an activity-packed itinerary for the kids; and we often we feel we’re always playing catch-up instead of enjoying our kids.

And so we – Jennie from Rice Cakes and Raisins, Aleena from Mummy Mama Mum, Riz from Rizology and myself – are introducing the #itsok linky – a place where you won’t be judged for not being perfect (perfection is relative, anyways), but appreciated for being the best parent YOU can be. For doing the best YOU can. For Perfectly Imperfect Parenting, which leaves you and your children happier!

The linky aims to help, inspire and reassure parents that they are in fact doing just fine, and that #itsok to not be ok sometimes.

What sort of posts can I add?

Your posts can be about real-life incidents, parenting fails, helpful advice, thoughts/ rants about being an imperfect parent in a seemingly perfect world. Heartfelt, funny, serious, whatever you like, we’d love to read them!

So where does the idea come from?

Jennie originally created the #itsok challenge on her blog as a way of helping other parents cut themselves some slack. It was a success, with other parent bloggers joining in with their #itsok moments (read mine here). And so she thought of expanding the concept, and the linky was born.

The linky will kickstart on April 3rd (Tuesday) and will go live every Tuesday at 7 am and run until Thursday at 11.55pm. Each of us four hosts will take turns to host the linky:

Week 1 – Jennie
Week 2 – Nicole
Week 3 – Aleena
Week 4 – Riz

You can link up from any of our blogs, and while the host of the week will comment on every post, we all will RT your posts.

We can’t wait to have you join us, and read and support one another’s blogs. See you on the 3rd!!!
