Why winter is the best time to dress well!

Depending on your taste and biases, you may have a preference of seasonal weather. Not many people love the cold icy conditions of the winter time, but, indeed, relaxing inside, drinking a hot cup of cocoa in front of a fireplace can be the most comforting act of the entire year. We’d argue that winter is also a wonderful time to dress, and one of the most underrated times for those interested in fashion.

If you’re looking to add a little more seasonal fun, then focusing on your wardrobe and making changes to it as appropriate can be a wonderful use of your time. But how might you go about that in the first place? What tips and seasonal dressing advice can offer us so much joy and flexibility whenever switching our outfits? Let’s consider some of this, below:

Layers give you freedom and flexibility

Most would agree that the best method of staying warm in winter is to layer up, and these layers of garments can give us comfort and freedom in how we dress. It’s perfectly acceptable to wear very basic shirts, perhaps even older items, and then layer nice items on top of them. Think a cheaper t-shirt, a cheaper sweatshirt, and a Moncler Gilet to complete the look. Only one item is high quality here, but it still completes the outfit and layers over a less expensive set. This means you don’t necessarily have to worry about putting a refined outfit together, you can layer up at your convenience.

Numerous events and Christmas dress-ups

If you’re lucky, you have the chance to visit many people you know during the colder months, enjoy dinner parties, head out to the local bar or pub, and spend the night chatting away. The good thing about these events is that they’re often different, from visiting your wonderful aunt to heading to the office work party, and all of these allow you to dress up differently. Winter formality with long overcoats can be perfect for work, while loungewear can be more than enough for a cheese and wine night you’re having at home with your friends. With additional layers, you can also come up with more outfit variations, differing this time from summer.

Bold decisions are less shocking in winter

There’s a quirky comfort in dressing up in winter. Wearing a wooly hat with pretend elf ears won’t cause people to double-take as it might in winter, and you can even mismatch colours to add that patchwork sense of charm that you might not be able to get away with in other seasons. In other words, winter gives you the chance to dress as your most idiosyncratic self, and don’t we all deserve that once in a while?

With this advice, you’re certain to dress your best in winter, through and through.
