Lands’ End Swimwear Collection: Review

Summer is all about the beach and the pool. Sunshine, sand, sea, cocktails. And the cherry on the cake – chic (and comfortable) swimwear/ beach cover-ups and stylish resort wear and dresses. Lounging by the pool or taking a sunset stroll on the beach hits different when you’ve got dapper swimwear to show off!

I was kindly asked to review the swimwear collection from Lands’ End and was gifted two items from their Cover-Ups for Women range. I chose the Cotton Jersey Sleeveless Maxi Dress and the Woven Kaftan Cover Up and here’s my honest review of both the items.

Cotton Jersey Sleeveless Maxi Dress

There are a number of things I love about this dress, but the most important is that it can be worn not just as a beach cover-up but in so many other ways as well! I chose the Navy/Emerald Palm Foliage print and here’s why this dress has become my favourite this summer!

Great quality and beautiful prints

The dress is soft and comfortable enough to wear all day, yet isn’t see-through or too thin (as some beach cover-ups are), which means you can wear it not just as a cover-up but as a gorgeous summer dress as well! Bonus: it doesn’t wrinkle so is perfect for travelling as well.

There are a variety of prints to choose from: brights like the Navy/Emerald Palm Foliage that I chose, a gorgeous Navy/White Tye Die print, a cool and chic Black Havana Floral print, a soothing Island Aqua Ombre and a choice of stripes.

Multi-purpose wear: can be dressed up or be casual chic

In the few weeks since I’ve had this dress, I’ve worn it on multiple occasions in multiple ways – a casual day out with sneakers, a summer BBQ party with heels and a denim jacket and on a beach holiday in Cornwall with sandals. I love how this dress can be styled in so many ways and works for various occasions.

Has stylish side slits and pockets

• The knee-high side slits not only add an element of oomph to the dress, but also allow for more room when walking, making it well-fitted yet flowing at the same time, lending a perfect fit.
• A dress with pockets is rare, so this one scores again – ask any woman and she’ll tell you a dress with pockets is always a winner!
• The high neck accentuates your shoulders (while also protecting from the sun) and adds the glam factor when worn as an evening dress. Just accessorise with long earrings and heels, and you’re good to go!

Woven Kaftan Cover Up

An essential pool/ beach/ resort wear item is a kaftan cover-up – practical and easy to slip in and out off and stylish at the same time. This lightweight woven kaftan made from eco-friendly modal fabric has a stylish V-neckline, short dolman sleeves and a gathered waist that is elasticated at the back and has a drawstring in the front.

This floaty cover-up dress is available in plain black and navy, or if you want to add colour to your look, there’s the Blackberry/ Strawberry Jacobean print as well as the stripe and tie due prints. This kaftan-inspired silhouette adds an easy elegance to your summer look.
