Easy decor swaps to give your kitchen a luxe feel
When designing your home, certain items are a must-have and cannot be replaced. If you try to use another in it’s place, it will look out of place or might not function as expected. However, there are other elements that you can swap and have better results.
When designing your kitchen with luxe interiors and design concepts, you can swap certain items to make your kitchen stand out. Here are some decor ideas to make your kitchen look new and luxurious and still be practical.
1. Use a mirror instead of art
Instead of hanging an art piece on your kitchen wall, try decorating with a mirror instead. A mirror will give your kitchen a brighter look and make your kitchen design more unique. However, it’s important to choose an appropriate sized mirror as you don’t want it to gather all the attention from your luxe kitchen decor.
2. Use a lamp instead of fixed overhead lights
Install a lamp or two instead of the standard fixed ceiling lights. Place the lamps on open shelves or as a freestanding floor lamp, depending on space and the kind of look you want. The best part is that lamps come in various shapes and sizes so it won’t be difficult getting one to suit your kitchen.
3. Place a rug instead of a mat
One usually has a rug in their living rooms, but it can also work in your kitchen and make it stand out. Because of running water and occasional spills in the kitchen, a mat is a more commonly used option as it does not absorb water. Placing a rug will make your kitchen look better, but you must be careful when carrying water and other liquids near it.
4. Use live plants instead of cut flowers
Flowers in a vase can make your kitchen look good; however, live plants will make your kitchen feel more lively. You can place several live plants in pots around the kitchen to add more life to your kitchen.
Classy luxe interiors and designs often involve placing live herbs in your kitchen, giving you access to a small garden in your kitchen.
5. Think outside the box…
When designing your kitchen, try to think outside the box. If you choose the normal designs most people have, you will have an average-looking kitchen. One quick way of designing a unique kitchen is finding unique substitutes for certain normal items in the kitchen.
